I have just written an essay on designing modern facilities for dementia long-term care and assisted living, whose focus is on the physical environment. You may want to have a look at Hogewyk Village in the Netherlands. It is absolutely an inspiration. I had always envisaged a therapeutic environment for our dementia sufferers in Australia, and after watching this CNN report, it is great to know that finally, the physical environment is now realised by care organisations.
