As Bingo prizes at my work place we have for one line, individual biscuit packs, tea or coffee sachets, and sweet treats like a few chocolates or individual haribo sweets. For a full house I have got posh adult squash, Packs of biscuits, non alcoholic beverages, toiletry packs, and word search or puzzle books.
They love it, they usually get three games in so a few people get to win a prize and bless some of them if they have already won they let the next person win (not all residents do this but its all down to the individual)

We also do a fortnightly quiz and the team or individual get a choice of the same prizes as in a full house of Bingo but may have a box of biscuits or sweets for a team to share. I have them in a bag and only show it if a team has won as some individuals would choose a box of chocolates for themselves LOL.

Hi Margaret
Wow you are so lucky
How much money do you have to spend??
Can you order things from other places??
I would start with some beach balls
I would think about your calendar and see what supplies you might need for the activities
I would order a few movies and music CDs
I would order some arts and craft supplies like markers paint pipe cleaners colored paper and other things do you think you might need in that line of supplies
Bingo prizes
Card stock
Large print coloring books
Snap and click fight sticks
Magnet cubesLarge dice
Playing cards

Do you have any ideas Which residentsyou are getting??
Have you run a memory care unit before??
Do you know what kind of staff are going to have??
Do you have a printer and a computer??
Do you have to buy supplies for those things??
A lot of things you can make yourself
That’s all I can think of right now but I may think of more especially if you answer the questions I asked

We are an Assisted Living facility in NY state. I have never heard of such a thing! We have bingo every day, and they complain if it gets cancelled. Ten years ago when we opened and the residents told me they wanted Bingo daily I had to come up with a way of dealing with prizes. I'm not one to load them up with a bunch of useless stuff. We have a coupon economy here. We give coupons for Bingo prizes, and once a month we have a BINGO Store where they can trade in coupons for snacks, toiletries, etc. Around the holidays I will ask if there is anything special that they would like available such as greeting cards , decorations or things they can use for gifts. We also do things like have coupon raffles (Buy in for 5 coupons and win 50), and use coupons for other events such as our Carnival or Casino Night. It is easy to expand upon.

We have a box of assorted items that we bring out as bingo prizes sometimes instead of sweets. It has things such as pairs of socks, scarves, soaps, powders, small purses, hand cream. I don't know about you but we often have people offering to donate things and we put these small things aside for this and the residents love choosing a gift for themselves for a change.

As for people on reduction diets? We do have sugar free lollies as an option (I buy them from the supermarket) but otherwise we don't worry too much about a little lollie doing much harm...

Can I have some ideas for housie/bingo prizes for people on reduction diets. One lady in particular has a psychiatric condition and feels she must get an edible prize but other non-edible ideas would be good.
