Hi Simone, the Panto is usually performed by; activity coordinators, nurses, kitchen staff, maintenance people, gardeners, residents' relatives, and friends of the facility. The audience (residents) are seated watching the Panto. Having said that, if you have residents capable of performing, all the better. Let us know if that is the case. Cheers.
We recently performed the pantomime "Alice in Wonderland". Our residents had a fantastic time, rehearsing, organising costumes etc...They performed it for their families and friends while feeling nervous but they all did a great job. It was followed by a sausage sizzle. A fantastic day was had by all.
Once again Golden Carers has come to the rescue. I live in a retirement village and calling on my years as a Diversional Therapist I constantly use the Golden Carers for new ideas to run my group in the village. I especially love the Read Aloud Audience Participation activity and I always pick a very shy resident to take a part. It is amazing how much it brings them out of their shell. The quiz always helps keeps their minds active and gives them such a feeling of self worth when they get a correct answer.
Whether the residents are sitting or standing depends on their ability
