I have created my own tongue twisters about my residents- in Memory care.... I have them brainstorm alliteration words- using their first name, then we add in rhyming words, then I pick and choose which words I want to make a fun tongue twister/ story.... I don't remember all of them anymore but something like:
'Mean momma Margaret had a mountain of money. She paid her mean minion monkeys to monitor her mountain'
Mary, Mary Quite Contary couldn't decide who to marry. should she marry Harry, Barry or Larry? She couldn't marry Larry, he was too hairy. she couldn't marry Barry. He was too full of hot air-y. I guess she'll have to marry Harry."
These are brilliant, I remember the horse one, it was told to me by my Auntie many years ago. I love them all. it creats laughter and togetherness spirit. Thank you .
Hi Everyone. Here are a few more Tongue Twisters from my friend Joy: (1) The sixth sheik's sixth sheep's sick (2) Six thick thistle sticks (3) Whistle for the thistle sister (4) A tin of mixed biscuits in a mixed biscuit tin (5) Rick's a cricket cricket (6) It's an Irish wrist watch (7) Two tiny orangutan tongues (8) Lesser leather never weathered wetter weather better (9) The shells she sells are seashore shells I'm sure (10) The sea ceaseth, and it sufficeth us
Heres a couple of longer Tongue Twisters: (1) Can you imagine an imaginary menagerie manager imagining managing an imaginary menagerie? (2) A tutor tried to tutor two flute tooters to toot. - Is it harder to toot or to tutor two tooters to toot?
Now try this: Ask someone to spell S.H.O.P. three times. Then ask them: What do you do at a green light? They will invariably answer: Stop! The answer is of course Go!
Here's a strange spelling situation: MACNAB spells McNab MACBETH spells Macbeth MACCANN spells McCann MACHINE spells Machine. Does this make sense to you? It should spell McHine.
Last one for this week:
1 1 was one racehourse. and 2 2 was one too 1 1 won one race and and 2 2 won one too
or you could say;
1 1 was 1 racehorse and 2 2 was 1 2 1 1 1 1 race, and 2 2 1 1 2.
All the best
Susan

Sister Suzie sews silk shirts for sailors The sailors would sooner sit on thistles than wear the silk shirts sister Suzie sews

You are so welcome John...so love our residents, and spend hours and hours trying to find new and fun stuff for them...they are all so precious...and consider all of them my family! I love to sew and started a sewing club. OWLS (older wiser lovelier souls) our facility has a bazaar in November, bring in local vendors so residents and family can purchase Christmas gifts.Owls will have their own booth....I do all of the sewing, but make it a social event..they love to see the finished products...have made lots of christmas stockings, walker tote bags etc.. all proceeds will go back into our community...I was bringing my own machine..but God love the facility..they bought one for our activity department, after the bazaar will continue to sew and have a drawing for the project completed for residents attending...so much fun!
I was hesitant at first to sign up for another website for activities, but I have been pleasantly surprised. It has been fun to search all you have to offer and during Covid-19 your site has helped me and our other Life Enrichment Coordinator so much. I truly appreciate all you do and provide. It just gets better all the time. Our residents love the word searches because they are so bold and clear. We have used many of your ideas and I’m so grateful! Thank you!
