Make Christmas is as joyous an occasion as possible! We can act as a surrogate family for residents; comforting, encouraging and providing reasons for them to be happy.

For many residents in nursing homes, Christmas can be a sad and lonely time. Spending a traditional family celebration mostly alone increases feelings of loss, bereavement and isolation.

Most care homes endeavour to ensure Christmas is as joyous an occasion as possible. Fundamentally, they rely on and their Activity team to organise this and to act as a surrogate family for residents; comforting, encouraging and providing reasons for them to be happy.
