I recently tried paper quilling with my residents and they really enjoyed it!

I bought some very inexpensive quilling pens or tools from an online supplier and cut up paper stock into 5 mm strips.

Even the residents with limited dexterity and eyesight managed to make some.

There are plenty of you tube videos on the subject too... we worked on filling an 8 x 5 frame together - which we did in about an hour and a half.

I finished gluing them all in place the next day.

yes, all residents with a range of abilities managed to roll even those with limited eye sight

Did your residents manage to roll the papers themselves?? I work in a nursing unit and assisted living and love the idea but dont see my residents being able to roll the papers up.

Hello Everyone
We did this with our residents in Oshawa, Ontario. We pre quilled the strips of paper, and because it was the first time doing this craft, we asked the Residents just to be creative. Next time we are going to make flowers. Thanks to all the great people around the world who provide Golden Carers with their ideas!
