This game is always enjoyed. I made up bingo cards with 16 different songs on each and use milk bottle lids as counters. The music cd that I use is the one called 'Musical Quiz on CD'. The residents really enjoy this and we usually take an hour before someone has the whole card filled. The idea is to have a full house as it were. We usually end up singing some of the songs as well.

When I did the poppies for Remembrance Day I used them in a wreath (I used a Christmas one) I also made some more poppies to put in around LED lights for effect at my service.

Just be aware not to use the word Snoezlen on your program as it's copyrighted. We used Sensory room...worked well, until the room was needed again for other reasons. You can get some of the items quite cheaply on ebay or in the two-dollar shops, battery operated too are better saves the need for power points; also hand held soft and unusual objects enhance the use of touch. Enjoy it as much as the resident.

I've actually combined this with a ladies facial...giving the facial first and then a hand massage...works well. We usually have a nutrimetics lady giving us her time and goods and also two staff members. Sometimes we've just had a nail day where all of the activity staff (3) do the nails.

I did one which I used in Girl Guides...you put different spices etc into the film canisters and number them...the residents then guess what you have in them..you can also use things they can taste...icing sugar, flour...it's amazing how the senses will lead into reminiscing.

I've done this a few times for Australia day, but we actually have a couple of pairs of thongs and we use an esky for the residents to throw the thongs in...it's hilarious
I just renewed my membership. Couldn't be without the brilliant info and activities you supply to do my job with satisfaction. The resources are brilliant and made my job easier, more fun and so much more interesting. I work at a day centre for the elderly and they love all the ideas. Many thanks!
